Jeremy Willets and I have recently completed Mastering Work Intake: From Chaos to Predictable Delivery which will be published by JRoss Publishing in January 2024. Why are we so passionate about work intake? Regardless of whether you’re creating, enhancing, or maintaining software products, work intake is a challenge you deal with constantly. Doing the right work at the right time can make or break your project or product. When work intake is not under control the chance of a good outcome is less than optimal (read that as fat chance). There are surprisingly few resources to show you how to manage this process effectively – until now.
What can you do until January? Well, first preorder the book (https://bit.ly/474ul6G) and then get on the waitlist for the live, cohort-based course on taming work intake. We intend to kick off the first cohort before the end of the year. The course is being built for Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Project Managers, Program Managers, and Portfolio Managers. You’ll learn why work intake is the biggest challenge to teams and organizations today. You’ll also learn what to do to solve this challenge. As we wrote the book we held workshops on this topic at conferences. The response we recieved highlighted how large a problem work intake is regardless of your approach to product development and support. We’d love to help teach you how to go about mastering work intake in your context. This cohort-based course will combine lectures, discussions, and exercises. It will provide space for you to learn and share with peers. Fill out this survey to get on the waitlist and be the first to hear when enrollments open: https://bit.ly/3MdmvQa
